Williams Fine Art

WFA

“Through art alone are we able to emerge from ourselves, to know what another person sees of a universe which is not the same as our own and of which, without art, the landscapes would remain as unknown to us as those that may exist on the moon. Thanks to art, instead of seeing one world only, our own, we see that world multiply itself and we have at our disposal as many worlds as there are original artists, worlds more different one from the other than those which revolve in infinite space, worlds which, centuries after the extinction of the fire from which their light first emanated, whether it is called Rembrandt or Vermeer, send us still each one its special radiance.”

March 23, 2019:

WFA conducted an auction via Erkelens & Olson Auctioneers & Appraisers in Salt Lake City. It was exciting to watch as approximately 72 paintings were sold at or above minimum. Below is the gallery of images at auction:

TODAY IS JANUARY 19, 2019 AND A I HAD AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE TO DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO MARKET A PAINTING BY DAN BAXTER DONE IN 1973 THE PAINING MEASURES 36 X 28″ AND IT IS ENTITLED GRANDMA WITH AUNT MAGGIE ON MOTHER’S DAY. THE CLARK FAMILY ASKED ME to purchase this painting but because of its partial cracking surface, I asked KIMBALL Clark if it would be OK for me to take it on consignment for a week’s time so that I could show it to Kim and David as one of the best Dan Baxter paintings I have ever seen. This painting is done on tempered masonite. I asked Heather Densley if she could treat this painting on its front surface to retard any further cracking expansion. Heather said the process is called HydroSEALING.
